An Original Linocut Print of prehistoric goddess statues found all around the world.
Hand printed by myself at my home studio in the Northeast of England, so everyone is slightly different and unique.
Small female figurines have been found dating from the paleolithic era all the way through history. Many believe they were fertility deities as often the breasts, belly and buttocks where prominent. Other statutes may have been house gods or representations of ancestors. They are often called 'venus' like the 'venus of willendorf. This print is just a small collection of ancient goddesses, there are hundreds more. I have two different dancing goddess' prints in my collection so far.
The print is approximately 18cm x 38cm and is hand printed in beautiful thick somerset velvet paper, with Caligo safewash ink in a very dark blue/black and is available as a print only or mounted in black archival mount board 25cm x 42cm
The process of a linocut print is quite lengthy. I digitally design most of my prints, these are then printed and transferred to a block for carving. Once carved the block is inked and printed to produce the final piece. Each print is titled, numbered and signed for authenticity and comes with a descriptive note about the mythology of the design.
Your print will be carefully wrapped to ensure safe delivery. I am trying to make the move to using post-consumer packaging to be more eco-friendly so you may receive repurposed packaging.
UK orders are being posted by either the Royal Mail or Evri, depending on the size of the print, for orders over £15 this will be by tracked delivery. For orders under £10 I use 2nd class post. International Delivery is most often with Royal Mail International Standard Delivery
