Sheela na Gig is an ancient pagan symbol, the carvings of her are found throughout the United Kingdom and Europe and are often carved in to spiritual places. Not much is know as to why they were carved with many believing they warded off evil and that they are a remnant of pre-christian mother goddess worship. Specifications

Printed on somerset satin printmaking paper in 250gsm. I have many variations of Sheela prints ( she's one of my favourites!) so do go take a look if you are interested in a different colour or size.

Caligo Safewash Ink is an oil based ink which can be cleaned up without using toxic cleaners, its main ingredient is linseed oil which makes them environmentally friendly and easy to work with.

This Sheela is approximately 13cmx9cm  on paper which is 17cm x 22cm and comes with a descriptive note about the design.
The black mount card is to fit a 8" x 10" frame
